World RX: The race to catch up starts in Belgium - EKS Audi

EKS Press Release

EKS is far behind its expectations in the FIA World Rallycross Championship so far. A distance of 42 points to the top of the driver’s standings shows the gap between expectations and reality. First chance for revenge is round three of the World RX campaign, which takes place in Mettet/Belgium. “It’s time to catch up Petter and the other guys at the top”, says Mattias Ekström. “In Mettet we aim for nothing less than maximum points.”

Together with returnee Ekström, who missed the second round in Hockenheim, is Anton Marklund. The Swedish young gun had a difficult weekend in Germany, but is strictly focussed on the next challenge. “The season is not running well so far, but the Audi S1 EKS RX quattro is really good. I have the feeling for the car now and like the track in Mettet where I made it to the final last time”, says Marklund. The Circuit Jules Tacheny is also the first track of the year that EKS has previous experience from. In 2014 the team celebrated a top 6 finish here.

Keep in mind …

After the disappointing performance in Hockenheim EKS went back home to Sweden for a short nap. Get an idea of the team’s condition and meet us for EKS Friday’s, which will start Friday, 15 May at 17.30. The whole team, including Mattias and Anton, would love to welcome you at our place in the World RX paddock.
